HALOmem has recently been awarded funding for a further five years and expands its expertise platform with the establishment of two new independent research groups working and collaborating within the stimulating multidisciplinary environment that has established Halle as an internationally recognised centre for pure and applied protein biochemistry, biotechnology and biophysics.

The research group “Biophysical Characterization of Medically Relevant Membrane Proteins”  run by Dr. Carla Schmidt (for more details see Aim of Research) is offering two postdoc positions and one position for a technical assistant. The successful candidates will work on protein-lipid interactions in synaptic vesicles and the neuronal synapse. The applicant will have trained in membrane protein biochemistry and biological mass spectrometry.
